Greg Murdoch Speaker
Greg Murdoch is a Horticulture Manager for Costa Berry International with over 15 years agribusiness experience with detailed knowledge of crop production and agricultural supply chains. Greg graduated from the University of Sydney with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Entomology and has previously worked
in Research and Development, Regulatory Affairs and within the Rural Research and Development Corporations (RDCs). Greg’s role within Berry International supports Costa’s African Blue business based in Morocco and the Costa / Driscoll’s joint ventures in China.
Since 2018, a large focus has been on leading the growth of blueberry production in Zimbabwe and Zambia in a strategic move to broaden African Blue’s market reach and extend seasonal supply of blueberries to its customer base.
Giao Nguyen Speaker
Dr Giao Nguyen is a vegetable research scientist of the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, Western Australia. He has more than 20 years of research experience in crop physiology and agronomy in Vietnam, Australia, USA and Japan. He has expertise in the field of
digital plant phenotyping and remote sensing technology in agriculture. He has been working on the protected cropping research program for vegetable crops in Western Australia since 2020. He works closely with Western Australian vegetable growers and other stakeholders
on various research projects. His current studies aim to introduce local growers to the suitable and affordable protected cropping structures and the good agricultural practices for improved yield and quality, improved water and nutrient use efficiency and resistance to biotic and abiotic stresses.
