Traffic calming measures 2.1.1 Traffic calming measures along child-friendly roads are implemented including: 30km/hr speed limits. Pedestrian crossings that prioritise people. Continuous footpaths and kerb ramps at all crossing points. Limited vehicle access in high pedestrian areas.

Consider existing cycleways and ensure secure bike storage at key destinations. Encourage walk-to-school programs along designated routes. Consider existing/planned traffic movements. Wayfinding signage 2.1.2

Consistent wayfinding signage is provided along designated routes for children. Comfort along paths 2.1.3 Accessible and obstacle free paths are provided for easy movement. This should be 1.8m width at a minimum.

Trees for shading are planted at regular intervals along routes. Lighting for safety and seating for rest are provided at regular intervals along routes. Play and learning opportunities 2.1.4 Play and learning opportunities are incorporated along routes.

Spaces for rest and play are separated from traffic through landscape buffers and have sufficient width to prevent obstruction of pedestrian circulation.
