Review of Performance Against 2021-2022 NSW Health Key Performance Indicators WSLHD Safety & Quality Account
Key Performance Indicators HOSPITAL ACQUIRED COMPLICATIONS (HAC)
HACs are a complication or cause of injury/infection which occurs during hospitalisation. WSLHD continuously monitored our rates of complication and ensure improvements are made to improve patient outcomes. Overall WSLHD HAC rates have remained stable over the past 12 months with improvements demonstrated in rates of hospital acquired infections, medication complications, respiratory complications, venous thromboembolism and 3rd & 4th degree perineal lacerations. WSLHD remains committed to reducing HAC and ensuring we continue to strive to deliver safe, high quality care to patients.
