HOLSWORTHY RANGE ROAD INTERSECTION WORKS Case study
Scope of Works • The project was a full design and construct project • The client required construction of a series of stabilised road intersections • The intent was to have a grid of intersections which can handle vehicles moving back and forward with a maximum weight of 5 tonnes • The pavement design was minimum 3% stabilised road base with 20 years design life • Boxed in Pavement with a depth of average 200mm • Drainage engineering was provided to the design to ensure that overland water erosion will be minimised • Minor excavation and preparation, removing of the small plants to create a flat surface to install the Geofabric material. • Supply and operation of 7.5 ton roller pad foot single drum in order to compact the ground • Supply and installation of DGB20 road base to an average of 200mm thickness • Supply and operation of 2.6 ton smooth drum roller for compacting the road base • Supply and Installation of Geofabric to the entire area – 6000m 2 • Supply and Installation of 20mm blue metal gravel for all areas in between the roads (3800m 2 )
