• Building access areas including lift lobbies, stairwells and hallways should be clearly visible from the public domain and communal spaces. • The design of ground floors and underground car parks minimise level changes along pathways and entries. • Steps and ramps should be integrated into the overall building and landscape design.
• For large developments ‘way finding’ maps should be provided to assist visitors and residents (see figure 4T.3). • For large developments electronic access and audio/video intercom should be provided to manage access.
• In larger developments, community rooms for activities such as owners corporation meetings or resident use should be provided and are ideally co-located with communal open space.
